T. V. Padma's scientific expertise begins with her background in oceanography, physical chemistry and environmental engineering, and extends to other areas such as physics, mathematics, geology, and the history of science. She has taught science and mathematics at the high school level, instructed university classes, and conducted workshops and courses for faculty. She has written nonfiction books and articles about India, Indian history, folklore, architecture, sculpture, painting, classical music, philosophy, philosophers, science, scientists and politics.
Many of her articles are about animals that once roamed and roared on the ancient earth and swam in its mysterious seas. Her latest book is about a fossil hunter and a dinosaur: Philip Currie, and his hunt for Albertosarus - a close cousin of the terrifying T. rex. This nonfiction picture story book, The Albertosaurus Mystery: Philip Currie's Hunt in the Badlands, was published in 2006 by Bearport Publishing Company.
