T. V. Padma has just completed a collection of rare mathematical folktales, which can be used to spark a child's interest and enthusiasm for mathematics. The book introduces mathematical concepts through stories, unusual puzzles, and activities. The collection, entitled Mathematwist: Number Tales from Around the World, was published by Tulika (publishers of The Forbidden Temple), and may be purchased either through their site or this site. Padma has also recently had two folktales accepted for publication by August House Publishers. The folktales, entitled Growing Gold and The Cleverest Thief will be published and animated by August House's Story Cove imprint. Growing Gold is scheduled to appear in Spring 2008, and The Cleverest Thief will be released in Fall 2008.
