If you are interested in having the author sign books or conduct a workshop for your school or university class, library, book club, or community group, you are encouraged to write to her and request a visit, using the contact form. As her teaching experience ranges from pre-school to Ph.D. students, Dr. Venkatraman is comfortable with adult and child audiences. Scheduled travel and readings are posted regularly at www.padmasbooks.blogspot.com.
Padma is happy to work with school teachers, university groups, and community gatherings to cater her presentations to suit specific needs. Many of her school presentations have curricular links. She also enjoys making her presentations interactive (combining them with short hands-on craft, cookery or other activity sessions). Some of her presentations have holiday tie-ins. She is experienced at promoting discussions in undergraduate and graduate university classrooms, leading writing workshops, and teaching writing techniques to adults.
More details on Padma Venkatraman's presentations.
After the Tsunami disaster, Padma raised over $ 2000/- for charity, from readings and book signings. The money was donated to the Ramakrishna Mission, CRY and the Red Cross. Major donors included (but were not limited to) current faculty, staff and students at URI's Graduate School of Oceanography, and alumni of the College of William and Mary (VIMS). Padma Venkatraman is always willing to consider combining an author event with a charitable cause.
